My name is Dr. Maria Mae and my art begins where most conversations end: in the body. Body listening is what I have been dedicated to for over two decades. I excel at placing my hands on what people cannot yet say out loud. I hold people for an hour, or days at a time, in an appointment, in a green room, or in a conversation. But healing does not obey the hour. It follows us out the door, into the car, into the long evening. And so I began to ask a simple question: what if something could keep holding them once I no longer could.

As a bodyworker, I help people loosen the structures that once kept them whole under survival. Ice works the same way. It melts on its own time, refusing to be hurried, and the pattern it leaves behind is the memory of everything it held while it was still holding.

What held us best is encoded in every piece. This is Held Well.

The Work

Custom Blankets

Each blanket is hand-dyed and custom-made - no two alike, even if two are dyed together for couples or mother-daughter, father-son. They will have similar color frequencies, but the shapes are all different and particular to who it's made for.
